Dating to the early 1970s, this TV commercial presents the Mars Milky Way and 3 Musketeers candy bars. First introduced in 1932 as a three piece (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) bar, the modern version of 3 Musketeers consists of a chocolate-covered, fluffy, whipped mousse. The Milky Way bar shown at :46 was developed by Frank Mars in 1923 and its taste was supposed to resemble a malted milk shake. It is made of nougat, topped with caramel and covered with milk chocolate. At :51, the "fluffy egg white center" and "corn syrup caramel" flavors are shown being enhanced by freezing them, and turning them into a delightful summer treat.
