According to a recently-obtained batch of emails, Donald Trump's allies were begging the Department of Homeland Security to seize voting machines and conduct a "full forensic audit" of them after Trump lost the 2020 election. Among those who emailed about the plan was Mark Finchem, a Republican Representative in Arizona who is now running for Secretary of State in Arizona. According to a new report from Politico based on emails obtained by the group, American oversight via a freedom of information act, request more Donald Trump allies than we had previously known about were trying to get the department of Homeland security to seize the voting machines used in the 2 20 20 election to conduct a full forensic audit in order to overturn the results of the 2020 election. One of the new people we are learning about actually happens to be a candidate for Arizona's secretary of state, meaning that he would be the guy that gets to oversee future elections in the state. It is a state Republican rep present by the name of mark Finchum. Again from Arizona, he sent an email via the standard online form with the department of Homeland security saying that we need to do this. Yeah, we need to have you guys go out seize the voting machines and conduct this, uh, as he called it, quote a full spectrum forensic exam of voting machines Within minutes of him, basically just submitting the standard online form that literally I think anybody can get on there. And do He had an email from acting director, Brandon Wales that said we need to do a call on today. And Brandon whales of course, was the acting director of the cybersecurity and infrastructure security agency with the department of Homeland security. So within minutes of Mr. Benham representative Benham, sending his request via that little online form, he gets an email back saying, oh, let's have a call all, let let's talk about this plan of yours to steal the election for Donald Trump.
And if that were the end of the story, that would be bad enough, but no, definitely not. The end of the story, It continues top C I S a officials reviewed fi and request, which was sent through a standard online form six days after the oval office meeting of Trump Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Michael Flyn, and the request made its way up the chain of command over the following days and an employee whose name was redacted noted. The agency conducted fact finding on the issue with Arizona, secretary of state, Katie Hobbs and the state eight election director. So the DHS department of Homeland security, this, you know, C I S a department Actually reached out to the state of Arizona, the secretary of state and said, what do you have? Do you have evidence for us? Which suggests of course, that the department of Homeland security for at least a portion of time
Was open to the idea of seizing the voting machines and overturning the results. At least as we know of in Arizona of the 2020 election, that should terrify you that as this says, it went up the chain of command. They went on a fact finding mission and they entertained this idea to steal the 2020 election. And if that was all it is, that would be bad enough, but as always, there's more, another email obtained by American oversight appears to show another Trump ally, which the watchdog believes to be Flint. A Flyn associate Phil Waldron directly contacted Chad mazel. DHS is acting general counsel on December 21st, 2020 to request a collaboration. WALN reportedly originated the strategy to have the defense department seizes voting machines. And he also distributed a PowerPoint presentation, urging Trump to declare a state of emergency.
That is by the way, according to raw there. So based on the emails reported by Politico, this additional reporting from raw story, this went up the chain of command at the department of Homeland security. They entertained it. They spoke with state officials and folks. You have no idea. And I still think we as, as a public, how have no idea how close this administration actually came to stealing that 2020 election? This is pretty damning stuff, right? This is the kind of stuff that the DOJ really needs to have in their possession. I mean, these emails exist. American oversight, the group that FOIA these, they were able to get their hands on 'em. So where is the department of justice right now? That's what I want to know. I'm tired of the, the, you know, waiting and CEO. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, stop it. It's time. It's time for a special prosecutor. It's time to haul these people in, oh, under subpoena. Do
