The Hallmark of a Christian - Ephesians 5:3-4 - Sunday May 16th

In this week’s text Paul holds no punches back when speaking about the sexually immoral person. He says the person who habitually lives, talking and behaving in a sexually immoral manner does not square with the fruit of a changed life that’s full of praise to God, that is a hallmark of a Christian. It’s a difficult text for some as it challenges an “anything goes” lifestyle. It also poses a further question that I shall answer: “Is it possible to call yourself a Christian and call Jesus ‘Lord’ and not be saved?” Now, one thing is for sure, this is not going to be a discouraging message that causes you to doubt, but one that will encourage you and inspire your faith so that you live in the fulness of life God has for you.
