This Star Has an Oblong Shape

Stars that rotate fast enough are oblate rather than spherical. The centrifugal forces caused by the rotation speed push material toward the equator of these stars, bloating them into elongated shapes. Some stars rotate so fast that they even fling material off of themselves!
