Did you know that Yoda wanted to train Leia instead of Luke?

Watching over Anakin Skywalker’s children through the Force, Yoda wanted to train Leia Organa as his final Padawan. He felt her strength, will and clarity would make her a great Jedi, with the best chance to redeem her father.

Shortly after sacrificing himself on the Death Star, Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared to Yoda as a Force spirit, asking Yoda to train young Skywalker. Thinking Obi-Wan was referring to Leia, the elderly Jedi Master quickly agreed.

Shocked to learn Kenobi meant Luke, Yoda refused, but after much debate, he grudgingly agreed, asking Obi-Wan to send Luke to him for training.

But Yoda never lost hope that Leia should become a Jedi, and through the Force he was involved in her training many years after he had passed away.
