කොටි ආයුධ නෞකාවට එල්ල වූ නාවික-ගුවන් ඒකාබද්ධ ප්‍රහාරය | Navy-Air Force Jointly Sunk LTTE Ship (1997)

Sri Lanka Navy enhanced the surveillance along the eastern coast following an intelligence report regarding the arrival of an arms-carrying ship to Mullativu. As a result, one Fast Attack Craft (FAC) which was escorting Hansaya Troops Transporter detected something unusual in the shallow waters in the Mullaitivu area, on 2nd November early hours.

The Eastern Naval Command promptly turned toward Sri Lanka Air Force seeking air power to engage the identified suspicious naval object while some Naval craft kept watching the target. Two Kfir Jets detailed for the mission successfully accomplished their task around 1030 hrs on the same day. The LTTE arms ship completely sunk in the Mullaitivu sea in the afternoon hours.
