Proud Boys subpoena Trump to testify at seditious conspiracy trial. What could possibly go wrong?

Some of the members of the Proud Boys organization who presently are on trial for conspiring to violently overthrow the government on January 6, 2021, are trying to subpoena Donald Trump to testify in their defense.

This presents a problem often encountered in criminal trials: a defendant tries to exercise his 6th Amendment right to compel witness to testify BUT the witness has a 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination and can therefore refuse to testify. And Donald Trump quite plainly has a 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination in connection with the insurrection. This video discusses what happens when constitutional rights collide.
